About HRMS CEO, Richard Katz
I believe good thing happen when people connect

Richard Katz, CEO, HRMS
Following a successful corporate career as Director
of Human Resources for Bullock's Department Stores,
and management consultant and HR Practice Leader
for the worldwide accounting, tax and consulting
firm, Ernst and Young, Mr. Katz established HRMS as Founder and CEO.

During
the 80's, HRMS, under the name VideoSearch,
created several visionary products including
the VideoResume, a tool used by sales organizations
to pre-screen employment applicants using
mock
sales presentations. Later in the decade,
HRMS produced
and aired a regularly scheduled, half-hour
recruitment television programs called "Meet Your Next
Employer." For his pioneering work in
recruitment advertising, Mr. Katz received
the Employment
Management Association's National Pericles
Award. In 1993, HRMS established its Government Services
Division to operate customized, government-funded
job training and job placement programs.
HRMS designs and operates a variety of
customized,
government-funded
job training and placement programs, including
the successful Spotlight On Jobs program
for the entertainment
industry that trains and places hundreds
of dislocated workers. Collaborating with
several
staffing agencies
to put hundreds of welfare recipients back
to work, HRMS was funded by the County of
Los Angeles
as
one of the first Welfare-to-Work demonstration
programs. In the late 90’s, HRMS received
funding to designed and operate Hollywood
Digital Careers,
a high-end technical training program that
retrained artists as digital visual effects
specialists.
In
2000, HRMS launched Dot.com Job Search™,
a proprietary curriculum designed to teach
staff and clients how to use the Internet to find
a job.
The course has been widely used by many
government agencies across the country and is
delivered in
several modalities including classroom,
CD ROM and online which can be previewed by going
to the Dot.com
Job Search™ demo.
More
recently, several new services have been provided
by HRMS. Through partnerships with MonsterTMP Worldwide,
HRMS designed a marketing and branding program for
www.laworkforce.org and for the Orange County, California
Workforce Investment Board. And, in partnership
with the Anderson School of Management, HRMS created
and produce a one-day Baby Boomer career transition
conference to help older alumni return to work.

HRMS
also publishes NetAssets,
a free semi-monthly electronic newsletter that
is distributed to thousands of workforce
development professionals. As editor of NetAssets,
Richard Katz oversees this editorial content, which
keeps him up to date and knowledgeable about latest
in Federally funded employment and training programs.

HRMS Government Services Division has served hundreds
of employers, thousands of jobseekers, and successfully
secured and managed millions of dollars of funding
from over 50 Workforce Investment Boards.
Mr. Katz is active in the business community and
serves as a volunteer elementary school instructor
teaching entrepreneurial skills in the BizWorld
Program and serves on the Board of Impact, a non-profit
substance abuse agency that treats over 2000 recovering
patients a year. Born in Los Angeles, Mr. Katz
holds a B.S. in Business Administration from UCLA
and
an M.A. in Industrial Relations from the University
of Minnesota.
