Job Seekers Introductory Computer and Internet Training
Before
I found Spotlight on Jobs, I didn’t
know what I was going to do. First I decided to
pay for some computer classes, not knowing how I
would be able to afford them. Then one night, I
just happened to be watching cable, and a public
announcement was on the TV. It was Spotlight on
Jobs. I was skeptical at first, but after being
in the program, I am confident that I will be joining
the work force real soon. I also believe I would
be in the same difficult position if I hadn’t
enrolled in SOJ.
Kenneth Wilkins, Student
I
have had computer classes at other schools in
Los Angeles, but they fall short by comparison to
the level of detailed information and instruction
I have been given at SOJ. The Office Survival Skills
and Job Readiness training taught at SOJ is an asset
to people trying to get back in the job market.
Lisa Gardner, Student
I
have gained much needed training in office procedures,
business writing/vocabulary and computer software.
This program has been invaluable to me, not only
by upgrading my skills but also by restoring confidence
in myself. The superior staff at Spotlight on Jobs
encourages me to do my best, while closely monitoring
my progress through class work, motivational workshops,
and hands-on computer training.

Thank
you for your role in bringing this Baby Boomer
Career Transition event to the Anderson School of
Management. I am a life and career coach and I'm
putting together a workshop for a small group of "B" school
grads from an eastern university. I learned a lot
from the wonderful day you created, and that means
that I will serve my clients better using some of
the new information I gathered. Your reach extends
beyond those who were at UCLA last Saturday. Keep
up the good work.
Nancy, Attendee
You
and your team did an incredible job in organizing
this older worker conference for professional
MBA’s!
I enjoyed it tremendously. Hope to see you again
soon at another Alumni Career Event hosted by Human
Resource Marketing Services.
Louise, Attendee
Thank you for all that you did before, during and
now, after, for last Saturday's event. The holistic
approach made it an energetic, informative, encouraging
and reality-checking forum. I hope there will be
future events in a similar vein. I was definitely
in the 92% who ranked it as excellent. Thanks.

I
want to express a great big "thank you" for
having Shon as an instructor for the Internet Job
Search workshops for our job seekers. She is brilliant
and was a great help to me.
Julie Evans, Student
I plan to compose a letter to the CEO of Marina
del Rey Work Source this weekend, begging her to
put your company in the budget for the next fiscal
year to add more classes on how to use the Internet
to find a job. We have nothing at this time to teach
older adults (40+) Internet savvy, and this market
has faced the biggest unemployment cuts.
Kate McCauley, Student
I just want to let you know that your instructors
did a great job in training our employment specialists
and job counselors on more effective use of the
Internet to find a job. Working with the mobile
training unit was a new adventure for both of us.
The feedback from the trainees has been very positive.
Lana McClain, Regional Trainer, Treasure Coast One

The
most valuable part of the course was learning
all of the new job search web sites and technique
to find a suitable job.
Jenny Rules, Employment Counselor, TTI America
As a job placement specialist, having the most
accurate, accessible and timely information available

make an enormous difference in a client’s
job search. HRMS Dot.com course provided us with
a detailed variety of job readiness information
sources.
Joe Richie, Job Placement Specialists, Florida One

I found all of the Internet Job Search information
to be most valuable. I especially found the discussions
between the presenter and the class reinforcing.
This was a very delightful course/workshop. Everything
was just great!
